Independent Reading Project

You will be required to complete two reading choices during the semester (one per quarter).  These will be read on your own; although, I will give you silent Independent Reading Project time several times throughout the semester as long as you come to class prepared when it is given to you.  You will know the dates ahead of time.

Choosing a Book

You may choose any author you like as long as it is at your reading level. I must approve of your book. If I do not, then you will not be able to read it.  Each piece of literature must be at least 150 pages in length. If the book you select has a movie version, you will be required to complete a one page, typed, single-spaced compare/contrast

Assignment Deadlines
​

Every Monday, you will submit a portion of the IRP. The point of this is so that you will be reading and documenting your reading journey over the course of the quarter. Later in this handout you will find a complete list of deadlines. ​
